Many people meet their significant other online, but online dating is n’t the only way to find love. A majority of couples ( 39 % ) say they met in traditional ways, such as through friends or at work And a smaller percentage ( 2 % ) found each other at a bar, event or restaurant.

In the past yr, about three in ten parents say they’ve used an online dating site or app. But the share of those who have done consequently varies by age and earnings. Adults who are never married and those with college degrees are more likely to have tried dating sites or apps than those who do n’t have a bachelor’s or higher degree. People with lower wages are also more possible to usage dating apps than those with higher revenues.

While most people say they’ve been on at least one first date that did n’t go well, only 16 % have never had a bad one.
